Accessibility

Rankr aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA across the interviewer console and the candidate exercises. This statement says what is in place, what is still limited, and how to get help.

In place

  • Every control works with a keyboard, with a visible focus ring. Panels in the review workspaces resize and hide from the keyboard, and the rapid fire deck answers to single keys.
  • Text and interface colors meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 in both the light and the dark theme, and color is never the only signal: statuses carry words.
  • Animation is minimal. When the system asks for reduced motion, movement stops and only short fades remain.
  • Pages use landmarks and headings, forms use labels, and errors are announced where they appear.
  • Diagrams are SVG with text labels, and every code view is real text.

Still limited

  • Review workspaces with a file tree, a diff and a side panel need a screen at least 1,100 pixels wide. They are not usable on a phone, and the start screen says so.
  • Diff views are large tables; screen reader navigation through them is possible but slow. A plain text download of the material is on the roadmap.
  • Rapid fire is timed by design. Interviewers can set a longer time per card when they create the item, and can choose a different exercise for a candidate who needs it.

Accommodations

Interviewers can give any candidate more time, remove a time limit, renew a link, or swap an exercise for another type. If you are a candidate and need an adjustment, ask the organization that invited you; they can make these changes in a minute.
